[ A-Z: This Is Me ]

Found a survey and thought it would be a good idea to share a bit about myself with you all. A-Z, this is me. :)

A.  Age: 19, will be 20 in about 4 days

B. Bed size: Queen

C. Chore that you hate: Dishes, oh how I miss my dishwasher

D. Dogs: None at the moment, but I do love dogs and would love to have one!

E. Essential start to your day: I guess I don't really have one. I tend to stick with the basics and try to get as much sleep as I can.

F. Favorite color: Like a rustic yellow color has been it lately.

G. Gold or Silver: Silver for me. I look awful in gold.

H. Height: 5’8"ish

I. Instruments you play: Nada. I have attempted the guitar in the past but really only learned a few chords

J. Job title: Photographer....or getting there anyways. Still attempting to build a business and clientele. Lovely By Lakeesha Photography.

K. Kids: None yet. But hope to have around 3 in the future. I love kids. :)

L. Live: Hope, IN

 M. Mother’s name: Judy

N. Nicknames: Keesh

O. Overnight hospital stays:When I was in the 7th grade I was on life support for a few days. I had double pneumonia and the flu and ended up with a hole in my lung.

P. Pet peeves: Having to repeat myself. I hate. Ha.ha. And waiting. I hate waiting on things. I really need to learn to be more patient.

Q. Quote from a movie: I don't really have one that isn't cliche'. Ha. I guess "If you're a bird,  I'm a bird." The Notebook melts my heart. Ha.ha.

R. Right or left handed: Right

S. Siblings: Brother-Greg (18)

U. Underwear: Amazingly comfy cute ones I got from Aerie.

V. Vegetable you hate:Cooked carrots are the worst. I'm more of a raw veggie kind of girl.

W. What makes you run late: Sleep. I love my sleep. Mostly because I tend to stay up way too late.

X. X-Rays you’ve had: Arm (when I broke it), Knee, Countless lung X-rays

Y. Yummy food that you make: I really haven't gotten into the experimental cooking phase yet. All of our meals are pretty basic. I guess my favorite thing we make is poppyseed chicken. Mmm.

Z. Zoo animal: Giraffes and Tigers are my favorites if I had to choose. But I am such an animal lover. I could sit at the zoo every day and not get tired of it. Ha. Being a Zoologist was actually my first career choice, but I ended up changing it so I didn't have to move. :)

Welp, there's a little about me. Feel free to comment with your A-Z survey as well!

[ A Bit O' Everything ]

It is so crazy that in just a few short days I will be turning 20....no loner in my teens anymore. Feels so weird. Kind of sad. Trying to figure out what my big b-day plans will be. I am thinking either a day of vintage shopping or a day at the zoo. Then next weekend Justin is surprising me with a weekend of birthday plans, that he won't even give me the slightest clue about. I hate waiting on a surprise! And of course he told me there was a surprise so that I could sit and stew about it for weeks. Ha.ha. I'm so impatient!
Here are a few new things I have found and added to my birthday wish list...

I just love this sweet necklace from TheLightFantastic. Not only is she an awesome photographer, but she also makes very adorable pendants from her work. I would love to own one of these! And remarkably, she only lives a town away from where I do.

I would also love to have this journal. It is so neat, and exactly the kind of thing that I am into. And at only $12.00, if I don't end up with it for my birthday I might just have to get it myself. :)

I have been wanting the Posey Pillow for quite a while now. I have been really wanting to get more into doing newborn photography and would love to have one of these to use for that occasion.

I think this book would be perfect for me! I am obsessed with making lists. One of my random quirks I have. Ha.ha. But this would be awesome to have.

Super love and super want this Anthropology blanket! But at $200 I will probably never see it, but a girl can dream can't she? ;)

And lastly, the thing I want the very most. The new Nikon D800. Isn't she beautiful? Ha.ha. But sadly this is probably more of a far away future kind of dream due to lack of funds. :(
And to accompany this lovely camera, I would also love this lens....

The Nikon 85mm 1.4G. Sadly these last few images are just dreams though. But thought I would share anyways. ;)

I was looking around and found two great vintage-based blogs today.

The first one is The Blue Eyed Owl. I have been reading through many of her previous blog posts and I also follow her on facebook. She posts many beautiful vintage items and topics, which I love reading about. There are also many posts on how to vintage shop. You should definitely check her out.

The other is Oh So Lovely Vintage, who also has many vintage blog entrees. I just love seeing all the great items she finds. I definitely recommend following each of these ladies. :)

On another note, my little brother graduated last week and I am a little behind on getting a few pictures up of the event. So here he is.... :) p.s. I am a little behind and don't have any of him walking across stage yet. But I will post as soon as I get the chance. :)

Wanted to say congrats to him and all of the other 2012 seniors out there! :)

Late Night Rant

Spent a great, much needed night with my Grandma tonight. Went out to eat at Texas Roadhouse (yummay!), followed by some shopping for very adorable clothes at Kohl's, saw "What to Expect When Your Expecting" (which I LOVED), and ended with playing a few rounds of Triple Yahtzee before my back started hurting so bad from my pinched nerve that I couldn't stand to sit in a chair anymore. :( But I love getting to spend these days with my Grandma. They mean a lot to me and we always have fun. :)

And back to the topic of the movie. WOW. I loved every minute of it. We were laughing (or crying) the whole time. Yes, it does consist of a few tearjerkers. I already want to go see it again. Ha.ha. It might just be my favorite movie now. I totally recommend seeing it. I even think guys will like it. Especially those who are already Dads. Even though I was kind of broke I totally do not regret seeing it at all. Ha.ha. So yeah, go see it. ;)

And on the topic of pregnancy, I cannot wait to get to go to my best friend, Mary's baby shower here in a couple weeks! I am still in search of an awesome and perfect baby shower gift though. Need something super special for my sweet little "niece" (pretty much) ;) Getting to see Mary two separate times in a month is a big bonus too! I am just glad we have been able to stay friends our whole lives while living a couple hours away. And I can't wait to get to feel little Molly kicking again. I never got to feel any of my other friends' babies kick. There's nothing like it. :)

Oh and on another note, my little brother, Greg, graduates THIS week! Crazytown! I can't believe how fast time has been going lately. (I've already been out of school for 2 years!) I'm really proud of him that he was able to stay focused and pass all his classes this year. Wishing him the best in what he decides to do with his life. It's kind of sad seeing all of these kids so excited to graduate. I would give anything to be able to be back in high school. Good times. But anyways, enough reminiscing, you can definitely expect some photos of his graduation in the near future! Ha.ha.

Here is another semi-recently edited photo from his Senior photos.

Well seeing as though it is 2:40a.m. and my pain medicine for my pinched sciatic nerve is finally taking effect I am ready for some sleep. At last! Relief! :) Goodnight everyone!

Elayna & Calissa: Sister Shoot

I had the privilege of taking some photographs for these adorable little girls, Elayna and Calissa again the other day. Aren't they too sweet? It is crazy to see how much they have grown in the past year, but I definitely love when clients come back for shoots. It's quite a good feeling and I love catching up and seeing how much the little ones change.

Check out this first super sweet image I got on my very first shot of the day.

Here are a couple shots I got of them last year to compare. It's so weird to see how much not only they have changed, but also how much my photography has changed.

How do you guys think I am coming? Feedback appreciated. Thank you all! :)

Awaiting Miss Molly!

I had the great privilege of taking my best friend, Mary's maternity photos this past weekend! I don't get to see her very often and had an awesome weekend shooting her photos and spending time with her! Mary has been my best friend since we were born and our Mom's were best friends all throughout high school. I am so excited that I am now able to be a part of her and soon to be Molly's life. :) And, I am super excited with how these shots turned out! Get ready for a photo overload!....What do you all think? :)

Ah! I absolutely could not get enough of this shoot! Isn't she adorable? And I am sure Molly will be just as cute. :) Just 10 short weeks til she is here!

Break Time!

The Spring semester is finally over! Hit it off with going to see the new movie, The 5 Year Engagement. It was very funny. Loved it. So many good movies coming out and couldn't come at a worse time (that meaning the me being broke time) Ha.ha.

I have a few photo sessions coming up in the next few weeks though and will definitely be keeping you guys updated (which I have been slacking on just slightly). I can't wait for my Maternity session this weekend with my best friend, Mary! Hoping to try out some new ideas and hopefully find some new great places to shoot. Getting a little bored with the same places. Wish me luck!
